Doll houses

The 3rd and 4th grade students made small doll houses for Easter. There is a green garden in every doll house yard! Last year we made small doll houses for birds, remember THESE?

Dump Bins

Here are some photos of our dump bins. We decided not to craft any new dump bins because the bins we use are quite new and long-lasting. At the same time we save materials and supplies.
Here in Finland we recycle paper, metal, plastic, organic waste, plastic bottles (money pawns), glass and fluting, for example. These decorated dump bins were made by the preschool, 1st, 2nd and 5th grade.

More recycled toys and something for Valentine´s!

We have made some new recycled toys,
 crochet bunnies this time.

We also made some lovely rubber stamps for Valentine´s day.
Stamps are made of empty tape rolls.

Warming hearts tutorial

1. You need two pieces of fleece fabric (left overs from craft), a piece of baking paper to draw the Valentine's Day heart on, oat grains and thread.

2. Attach the heart to the two pieces of fabric (wrong sides out) with pins.

3. Sew along the line. Remember to leave a small hole for the oat grain filling.

4. Tear the baking paper off and cut the heart from the fabric leaving approximately 1 cm seam allowance.

5. Turn the heart's right sides out and fill loosely with oat grain.

6. Close the filling hole sewing by hand.

7.Now the Valentine's Day hearts are ready. Put the heart in to a microwave owen for a few minutes and enjoy the warmth.
